**ANZAC DAY INFORMATION**

Afternoon All,
A reminder that Anzac Day is approaching fast, Saturday week to be exact.
There is a Dawn Service being held at Submariners Walk Heritage Trail (SWHT) Tenerife commencing at 0530.
SWHT is located at the intersection of Macquarie St and Beeston St, Tenerife. Parking is located 400 metres down Beeston Street on the right, down a lane, please don't park in the lane, park on the grass at the end of the lane. This area is not very big so be conscious when parking as your fellow mates also need to park in that area.
Following the Dawn Service some are venturing into the city partaking in the Brisbane March, marching with the Naval Association, commencing at 10.00 (Navy is leading the march)
Some may head over to Pine Rivers RSL, Kallangur (Norths Leagues & Services Club) to attend their march and service commencing at 0815 (March step off is located at Kallangur Fair Shopping Centre).

As you are all aware Des Scanlan resigned from the position of Vice President.
Your management committee is calling for expression of interest for those of you who would be interested in becoming Vice President of the Association. As we all have different and varying lives these days we all can't be available for everything that the association is involved in. So being 1 member down in the management committee, puts extra load on those members remaining.
I have attached an expression of interest form to be completed and emailed to me by Friday 01 May 2026.

Note : The Dawn Service will continue to be held each year at SWHT. However, to allow Members to attend their local RSL's celebrations SAA Qld Inc. will only be participating in the Brisbane City March every three years when the RAN leads the March. Commencing this year and then 2029 etc.
Your Support at these events this year is encouraged by the Committee to display to the Public that Submariners are a proud group who gather together on Anzac Day to remember all those who have and are presently serving in the armed forces.
